Attention!!! We have some great news to share. We have just launched our Altru Community where every user has the opportunity to interact with each other and our staff. It’s a place where you can ask questions, share best practices, report problems, network with each other, get updates on key happenings and….enter ideas!
Because the community has the ability to enter ideas, we are no longer going to accept ideas in this forum. So we’re officially closing it. You can still comment on ideas and get to it for reference, but new ideas are for the community.
We’ve moved a good portion of ideas over to that community, but not all. If you like an idea someone posted, all you have to do is star it. There’s no more vote limits, and has better capability to discuss ideas to really understand the business need.

total giving history reports
We need to be able to access the cumulative giving history of all of our donors. This is vital information for any organization. This is a huge problem not being able to run this report. The Revenue detail report only gives designation revenue. This is not an accurate overall look at how much our donors are giving.
The report needs to include ALL revenue given to the museum by our donors. This includes memberships, sales, donations, events, classes, etc. We need to see: All revenue attached or not attached to a designation, Any and All money given to the museum.…47 votes -
Prospect and Donor Tracking
We would like to be able to track our prospects and donors through Altru and eliminate the need for excel spreadsheets in our development office. The functionality the prospect tab in RE provided allowed for excellent tracking and moves management which could be exported out in a report. Fundraisers need to be able to cohesively track their prospects by assigned solictor, and see their proposals / funding requests / assignments for the fiscal year, and then coorelating interactions. Email Confirmation
Since going live with webforms, we have had several ticket purchasers ask about an email confirmation. All they currently get is a confirmation page. The same goes for advance sales confirmations. We've also had folks just request receipts be emailed to them and we've been scanning the thermal receipt to email.

Merchandise selling
Can you come up with a way to make the merchandise button active for an entire order rather than needing to hit it for each item. We need speedier sales transactions for times when we are super busy like farmer's market and field trips.

Historical Attendance Data
We need to be able to back-enter attendance data and associated revenues in order to eliminate our current system of entering admissions into an Access database. We need to be able to keep a running historic record and we want to do that in Altru.

Ability to choose defaults in constituent search page
It would be nice if, in the Constituent Search screen, you could choose to always have certain boxes checked. For example, in RE7, we set it up to always have the Alias/Nickname box because we have a lot of members that go by nicknames. In A&C, you have to check the box each time you do a search.

Copy Volunteer Job Occurences
Similar to the way you can copy a previous event or copy a query, it would be great to be able to copy a volunteer job occurence to use the same parameters over and over again for jobs that can't be done as ongoing or recurring because of time fluctuations. That way you can just update times and dates without have to rekey all of the other info.

Global Changes
In RE the ability to make a Global Change existed. Is this planned at any point for Altru. We are having issues with Addressee, Salutations and Household settings. Since it is such a huge part of the system, we could really use this to help clean up our records. But of course it could be used in so many other helpful ways!

Multi-day Programs
We need to be able to schedule multi-day programs that only require one registration fee but register the patron for multiple days.
We do week-long camps several times a year and we have an ongoing preschool. We need an option for a patron to pay one registration fee but then show up on the roster for every day of the program.

Applying Discounted Tickets to Membership Needed
Currently we can only apply tickets to membership that have not been discounted. Otherwise we must fund the entire purchase. This is a problem, 1 out of 4 people use a coupon here.

Default Addressee and Salutation
the default Addressee and Salutation for female spouses is not defaulting right. It is defaulting the name (Mrs. and Mr. Female name) At this time there isn’t a way to default the Name Format of the spouse record to “Mr. and Mrs. Male name”.
Is there any way to correct this? This is causing problems. When we run lists or queries it is coming up with the wrong name. We have to go through and fix all of the female names. This is very time consuming

Notifications on Daily Sales Page
We keep memos on our members and constituents. It would be helpful to have a popup or note right under the patron name without going to the constituent.

Interactions/ Category is invisible!
On a constituents interactions page, the category is not visible until you click on the interaction detail. It would be more helpful to see the category instead of the summary.

Flat Rate Discount
We desperately need to be able to discount flat rate items. We occasionally need to adjust the price on a birthday party, for example, for customer satisfaction reasons or if they bring their own cake. We would love to have some flexibility there.

Company name as part of individual's mailing address
I need to be able to include a company name in the address when mailing to an individual whose address is their business address. This is critical. I am losing $ because my appeal letters are being returned by the post office because without the company name the mail is undeliverable.

Group reservations / scheduled events
The process for booking group sales is very tedious - why do group reservations have to be attached to scheduled programs? We have scheduled programs as well as group reservations in the same time spot. This has greatly muddled up our org calendar. GL Accounts in Deposit Report Printout
We would like to have GL account designations as a column (or an optional column) in the deposit report printout, as opposed to exporting these designations to an excel spreadsheet. It would be great to have this information on one cohesive report.

Households as donors
I think that households should be allowed to be donors. Our org is small and does not have a need to 'split' the records into two individuals. It would be better for us to be able to use the household records like we used records in RE. In order to do that, we need households to be able to be donors.

The idea expressed here encompasses only one facet of a larger set of questions that need to be answered around how different kinds of customers want to view families and thus leverage household functionality. View FULL query list
When running and viewing queries – it is time consuming and unhelpful not being able to view all the records that are part of a query. I realize that this request has been rejected in the past, but I think it is important enough to be revisited. The extra step of having to export to view your query wastes time.
